Going Green: Small Steps That Make a Big Difference

  1. Switch at least half (if not all) of your bulbs to CFLs.
  2. Wash laundry in cold water instead of hot.
  3. Turn off lights when you leave the room.
  4. Switch one appliance to an energy efficient model.
  5. Enjoy natural light as often as possible.
  6. Completely turn off your computer and all electronics nightly.
  7. Conduct a quick energy audit of your home.
  8. Line dry your laundry.
  9. Lower the temperature on your hot water heater.
  10. Unplug unused chargers and appliances.
  11. Set your AC to a higher (but comfortable) degree.
  12. Turn off fans when you leave the room.
  13. Up the wattage on light bulbs.
  14. Take your fridge’s temperature and reduce by 10 degrees, if possible.
  15. Use the dishwasher.
